SEARCHING FOR AUSSIE BASEBALL STARS

FOR JAPANESE TV COMMERCIAL - 2ND CASTING OPPORTUNITY

 

JAPCO Productions, a Sydney based casting company, are searching for a group of people for a baseball themed TV commercial for an American company's sports drink in Japan to be shot in Japan.
 
Story and what you have to do

There is a worldwide famous Japanese baseball player who is playing in an American Major League team. 
You will have to play baseball as part of a team with him and celebrate with him when your 'team' makes a good play.
You may also be required to act as the members of the opposing team.
 
Shoot Location
The shoot will take place in a stadium in Japan, likely to be in Sapporo Dome, Sapporo, Hokkaido (North-eastern most island of Japan) 
At present it looks like the shoot and rehearsals will take place over 2-3 full days.
All transport, accommodation and baseball uniforms for the shoot will be supplied by Japan.
The shoot date is to be confirmed but the 23rd & 24th of January 2008 are looking very likely for stadium hire.


Players must be
 •  Male aged 20s or 30s
 •  Top level players able to play a professional level game or simulate practice for it
 •  Look like they could be playing in an American Major League team.
 •  Have a big, bubbly, bright personality. Basically they are looking for baseball players who when they make a good play will celebrate in a similar manner the Brazilian soccer player - ie run towards to crowd and slide, or do a handspring, or pretend to be an aeroplane, or raise their fist to the crowd and cheer etc.... 
 •  Caucasian, Hispanic and African American are welcome at the casting as the team is supposed to be an American Major League team. 
 •  Have a flexible schedule that allows them to go to Japan during January for the shoot
 •  Valid passport holder or person able to get passport before departure

Bicentennial Oval,
2-4 Small St, Willoughby (Sydney)

 •  Baseball uniform and cap
 •  Baseball glove
 •  Baseball Bat
 •  Baseball (Ball)
 •  If filling the catcher’s position, bring all catchers’ equipment
 Casting Process
A practice field will be hired and we will set up normal training.We will film you practising baseball as a team - there is a triple play scenario in the commercial and they would like you to do this for the audition. We will also film you individually and your 'celebration' acting as well as take still photos of you and your measurements.
We will check your schedule details.These will be sent to Japan for selection.
