Taking their first loss at the Asia Pacific Little League Championships hasn't dampened Australia's team spirit.
Lincoln Kempton started the pitching, of the 44 pitches he threw 30 were strikes and 14 balls striking out 4. 3 runs were scored from cheap hits, 2 bloopers over SS that narrowly cleared Dawson Summer's glove and a slow roller hit to 3rd base to finish off the second inning at 3 nil.
In the 1st inning, Byron Armstrong led off with a triple driven along the 1st baseline to the fence. Australia was unable to bring him home.
In the 3rd inning Zak Thompson was the next player to pitch. First pitch was a HR over the right field fence by Thailand's #4 power hitter. The HR was followed by a catch by Jackson Riley in centre field for the 1st out. Thompson then gained his composure and went on to shut down Thailand's offence striking out the next two batters.
In the bottom of the 3rd Byron Armstrong came to the plate again with the only hit of the inning and Australia failed to bring him home.
Dawson Summers came to the plate in the 5th with a two base hit to left field.
The standout hitters for the game were Byron Armstrong 3 for 3, a HR, a triple and a single and Dawson Summers was 2 for 3 with 2 doubles.
It's not over yet we are a proud team and we've worked hard to get here and we plan to show Korea that we deserve to be here and we plan to win.
