The 3rd of June sees the beginning of a week to remember for Perth North Metro as they begin the quest to win the 2012 Asia Pacific Little League Championship in Taichung, Taiwan.
Lead by coach Murray Kempton, Perth North Metro qualified to represent Australia by winning the 2012 Little League National Championship.
Perth North Metro will compete against teams such as China, Taiwan, Guam, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, New Zealand, Saipan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand and Vietnam.
A favourable pool draw should see Perth North Metro offer solid competition towards the finals.
“It’s a big opportunity for a really well skilled group of kids. It will be an amazing experience to play in front of large crowds in Taiwan and then possibly Williamsport, the home of little league” said Kempton.
Competition is fierce amongst these junior athletes as each team competes for entry into the Little League World Series.
This is a lifetime opportunity for each junior athlete as they are treated like professional athletes for the duration of the tournament.
Perth North Metro begins its campaign tomorrow against CMNI Saipan at Wan-Shou Stadium, Taichung.
