The Australian Women's Baseball team, have a relatively short history, but the success that they have achieved over the past few years is nothing short of outstanding.
Women's baseball in Australia has long history with games first being played approximately 100 years ago. In the 1990's, women only leagues began throughout the country, with the Victorian Women's League quickly establishing it's current reputation as the strongest league in the world.
In the late 1990's, the strength of women's baseball in Australia was reaching new heights with leagues sprouting across the country.
The National Women's Championships has been held annually since its inception in 1999 and 2001 saw the introduction of the Australian Women's Program.
Australia also played an integral part in the creation of the annual world championship of women's baseball in 2001, known then as the 'Women's World Series'.
Now, Australia is one of the regular competitors at the Women's World Cup held every two years.
