National Women's Team Announcement

Following the recently completed 2005 National Women’s baseball championships, the Australian Baseball Federation (ABF) is happy to announce the selection of the 2005 National Women’s baseball team. As you can see on the attached team list, a 19 member team plus an additional five shaow players has been selected.

As has been the case in previous years, Victorian and New South Wales players dominated the selections (a clear sign of the strength of the women’s competitions in their respective states), with a number of talented QLD and WA players also being named in the squad.  

The team will be participating in a training camp, followed by an International friendship series against Japan (and possibly other nations) later this year. Exact dates and locations of the camp and series have yet to be confirmed, but an early November timeframe has been targeted. Details of the program will be released as they are confirmed.

The ABF congratulates all players on their selection. They have all worked very hard and are deserving of their position in the Australian team.
