The Nippon Ham Fighters of Japan have agreed to terms on a deal with LHP Brad Thomas.
The 27-year-old Thomas still has a pretty intriguing left arm, but he spent most of last year on the disabled list with elbow troubles. If he can bounce back as part of the Fighters' rotation, he'll receive interest from major league clubs next winter. Mar. 1 - 4:07 am et

Fighters land lefty
The Nippon Ham Fighters said Monday they will acquire the services of former Major League Baseball left-hander Brad Thomas.
Officials said Thomas, who had a tryout at the club's training camp in Okinawa, will formally sign on Tuesday at the Pacific League club's front office in Sapporo.
The 27-year-old Australia native has a career 0-3 record with a 9.89 ERA in 11 games in the majors. He is expected to be part of the Fighters' starting rotation.
Last season, Thomas made three mound appearances with the Minnesota Twins and was traded to the Boston Red Sox but had no opportunities to pitch.
