Australia defeat Canada 9 - 4 at CRWS

Game four of the CRWS against Canada commenced on time with high cloud cover and the best weather of the tournament yet.

Starting pitcher Daniel Reid looked sharp on the rubber for Australia only allowing two hits in four innings but the top of the first saw Canada take an early lead, 1-0. 

After a second innings fight back Australia never surrendered the lead with singles to Sean Rintoul and Josh Diggins as well as a triple to Josh Rawlinson.

Australia built upon its lead with six runs in the fourth. The inning looked promising, with Sean Rintoul picking up a double as well as single to Jones pushing us out to a 9-1 lead.

Three runs in the top of the fifth and sixth helped Canada close the deficit to 9-4 but Australia finished strong with Oliver Dunn highlighting with a double in the fifth and Lachlan Allen closed out on the mound for Australia. Sean Rintoul received the Ron Tellefsen award for Australia.

We now prepare to play Korea tomorrow afternoon (6.00am EST Australia) for a spot in the finals. The coaches are looking forward to seeing all the hard work the players have put in, to come to fruition.
