SPORTING HALL OF FAME NOMICATIONS 2008

Nominations for the Sporting Australia Hall Of Fame are being called for. If you would like to nominate an athlete and / or official from Baseball who you believe meets the criteria for consideration for induction into the Sporting Australia Hall of Fame, visit the following website to obtain a nomination form (www.sahof.org.au) and retrieve more information. The closing date for receipt of nominations is 31 May 2008.

 

 

AUSSIE HEARTS WOMEN’S BASEBALL TEAM FINISH 3RD IN OREGON SCIENTIFIC PHOENIX CUP

The Aussie Hearts women's baseball team finished third in the inaugural Oregon Scientific Phoenix Cup, an IBAF sanctioned event hosted by the Hong Kong Baseball Association.

 

Saturday, the Hearts lost 6-2 in the semi-final to the Far East Bloomers of Japan, the eventual tournament champions. In the consolation game Sunday, the Hearts beat Hong Kong by a score of 18-8 to finish in third place. In the tournament, six teams from Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, North America, Taiwan, and Australia competed.

 

Julia Watson of the Baulkham Hills Club in Sydney was named the top hitter in the tournament, leading all other players with eight hits in four games.

AUSTRALIA INVITED TO WORLD CHILDREN’S BASEBALL FAIR

Australia has again been invited to attend the World Children's Baseball Fair. The Nineteenth WCBF will be held in Aichi Japan 28 July to 10 August 2008.

 

This year Australia has been invited to nominate a team of fifteen players, one EO and two Coaches to participate in International Exchange games as part of the fair. Children must be under twelve years of age as of 28 July 2008

 

Initial enquiries should be made via your State Association.

 

 

WOODVILLE BASEBALL CLUB SA SEEKING SENIOR COACH

Woodville Baseball Club in South Australia is seeking the services of an experienced Senior Coach for season 2008-2009 and beyond. Best club facilities in South Australia including gymnasium, bullpens and indoor batting/pitching areas. 2008 National Women’s Championship

International Player Transfers Approved by the ABF

 

·         From 19 March 2006 Jason Michael Pasma of Rangers Baseball Club, Queensland, transfer to Bonn Capitals, Germany.

·         From 20 June 2006 to 20 June 2016 Kurt Ramsay of Melville Braves Baseball Club, Western Australia, transfer to Leksand Baseball Club in Sweden.
