Effective Committees
Baseball activities do not just happen - they need to be organised. In most baseball clubs, there is a structured system of administration and management that relies on the management committee. A stable, knowledgeable and well-functioning management committee is the key to an effective baseball club.
Management committees exist to make decisions and are charged with the overall responsibility for organisational governance. Therefore, the committee management process is vital to both the smooth day-to-day operation and long-term future of most sport and recreation organisations. For this to be achieved every committee member must have a clear idea of what their roles and responsibilities are within that organisation.
The most effective way to achieve this is to have job descriptions for every committee position. Therefore in this months issue we have included general job descriptions for the roles of President and Secretary, with more to come in following issues.
